What is your availability?

Shoots are taken primarily on the weekends. If there is a specific date needed it is recommended to contact us at least 4 weeks in advance.  Dates cannot be held without a deposit.  Please contact simplysweetsnapshots@live.com to make an appointment.

How long is a session?

Length of sessions depend on number of persons being photographed and ages.  We do not rush during a photo shoot and we not watching the clock. Typically portrait sessions can last between 30 minutes and 2 hours. Newborn sessions can be as long as 3 hours.

Where do you take pictures?

Sessions are on-location meaning that you can choose where you would like to take your photos i.e. favorite park, beach, even your own backyard. While warm weather shoots usual occur outdoors with natural light an indoor shoot can be done if your home has ample light or in my home. Locations don't have to be elaborate to make a great images.  Newborn and smash cake sessions are done indoors and typically at the photographer's home where there is an array of props at disposal.  We will gladly travel to the location of your choice. If the distance is beyond 30 miles from Bridgeport CT an additional travel fee will be incurred (please contact for details). If you need recommendations on a location just ask.

Which form of payments do you accept?

For Easy payment we offer a comfortable online payment option.  All major credit and debit cards are accepts via paypal.  Checks are accepted for events.

What should we wear for our family shoot?

I get this question a lot and I've written a post about it.  Check it out here:  http://simplysweetsnapshots.blogspot.com/2013/02/what-should-we-wear.html

I also have a Pinterest board with example of great coordinating outfits inspirations:  https://www.pinterest.com/stacey618/

What child is high energy or shy.. How is this going to happen?

If you have a high-energy kid family portraits seem like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE.

Confession: I CRINGE internally when I hear you yell at or correct your kids at our sessions. Not because I don't appreciate good behavior but because I want your kid to be really HAPPY. And when someone is standing in the wings prompting kids to do certain things they clam up. How do you feel when 4 people are all yelling at you to do something at the same time? You want to tell them to go kick rocks, that's what. How are your kids any different? If anything, they have less ability than you do to keep it together.  I may ask that you walk away and let him or her have some freedom.

As opposed to children who are temporarily shy around strangers, some children are naturally quiet and introverted.  There is nothing wrong with capturing who they are!  If they are hiding behind mommy’s legs or quietly sitting by a tree, why not capture that?  Not every photo of a child needs to be of them smiling or laughing. Sometimes kids will open up after they feel the pressure is off of them to perform in front of the camera.

Keep your expectations low for your child at a photo session and you will ALWAYS be pleasantly surprised.

Do I get all the images you take?

We go thouroughly through all the images we take during a session and will take out the obviously unusable ones in a first step.  We also reduce the amount of duplicates so you can enjoy only the best of the images.  Each image is edited individually.  Total number of images depend on the individual session results-photographer's discretion.  Each package we guarantee a minimum amount of images but in the end you will get to view all images which make it into the final collection.

What happens if we are running late or vice versa? Do you extend our time?

It is our practice to arrive early to our shoots, as I like to scope out the surroundings and get our creative mind going. If for some reason we are late we will do our best to extend the time or if the time is substantial and the shoot is unsuccessful we will refund all or part of the money or reschedule. If a client is late we will do our best in the time that is remaining to get everything we need, but we don’t extend the session time.

Our portrait sessions are quite long in the time frame available. We do this so people can be relaxed and happy during the session and don’t need to be stressed about the time.

Can I see some of my pictures right away?

Yes!  For clients who would like to see a small smapling of their photos within the first few days we offer a "sneak peak" that can be viewed on our social media pages.  If you want to share your sneak peak with friends and family you can do so by sharing the post straight to your own page.

How long does it take until my final gallery is available for viewing?

Portrait sessions take approximate 10-14 business days until it will be possible to view them online, events 4-8 weeks.  We know how excited you are to see the final images, so we do our best to provide you with the final product as soon as possible.

Can I keep the images to my session private?

If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.

Do you offer online viewing?

Yes, all our packages come with an easy to access online gallery so you can view and share your images with friends and family.  The gallery will be avilalbe for 5 business days of it's publication.

If we cancel our booking will we receive our deposit back?

In case you cancel you will not receive your deposit back.  This covers any loss in the form of lost bookings and eventual cost already arisen before the actual session.  However, we understand that unforeseen events can happen, so we try to work on alternatives if possible - e.g. find a new date for a session.

What right do I have to the digital prints?

You will receive reproduction rights to all your images.  This gives you the right to reproduce the images for personal use, so you can use them for prints, sharing them on your social media, making canvases etc.  Commerical use is not allowed if not separately agreed on.  The copyright of the images will with the photographer.

Do you provide digital negatives (RAW files) after the shoot?

You will be provided with edited images only.  Each picture is carefully handled and will be a representation of our work.  Be sure to look at our portfolio and that our work and style are a good match for you.

Who do you recommend for printing my digital files?

If you are local Milford Photo.  You can download images straight to there website and pick up yourself.

I recommended Mpix.com.  They offer high-quality photos printed in the U.S. and ready for delivery in 24 hours. The image quality from Mpix is much higher than what you’d get from a drugstore, superstore, or consumer online print shop, and the service checks every photo by hand. Mpix offers three different paper options and prints start at 19 cents.

Shutterfly also prints high-qulity photos and comes in as our second recommendation.

For the best deals on canvas I recommend Canvaspop
